The Authors Bookshelf – Sue Johnson @SueJohnson9
Welcome back to The Bookshelf. Each week I feature an author or book blogger and talk about their bookshelf with them. It’s a light-hearted, book focused, Q&A.
Another new to me author this week, Sue Johnson writes is a poet, short story writer and novelist as well as a writing tutor. Definitely, a good person to know! It’s been lovely getting to know you Sue, and thank you for taking part. I hope you all enjoy her bookshelf.
What was the first book you remember having on your bookshelf?
The first book I remember seeing (when I was still in my cot) was a rag book that a friend of my Gran’s made for me. It had pictures of a house and the animals that lived in it.
What was the most recent book you added to the bookshelf?
‘In the Heart of the Sea’ by Nathaniel Philbrick. (It’s the true story that ‘Moby Dick’ is based on)
Which book have you most recently read from your bookshelf?
‘The House of New Beginnings’ by Lucy Diamond.
Which 5 books from last year would you not let go of from your bookshelf?
What was the most recent addition to your writers bookshelf?
‘The Joy of Mindful Writing’ by Joy Kenward.
Which of your own books are you most proud of adding to the bookshelf?
I am amazed and thankful that any of them are there! I am particularly proud of my latest book ‘Apple Orchard, Lemon Grove’ – published just before Christmas.
Which book on your bookshelf do you most wish you had written?
‘The Lollipop Shoes’ by Joanne Harris.
Is there a WIP we can look forward to adding to our bookshelves?
Yes – I’m working on two different ideas at the moment. One is a regency and the other is a time-slip.
Can you share a picture of your bookshelf / favourite bookshelf?

Taking Part in The Bookshelf
I’ve currently put a pause on taking new applications for The Bookshelf. I recently put a call-out for participants on Facebook and am currently booked up into June so want to get through most of these lovely people before I open the floodgates again. If you already have a form to return to me, feel free to do so, just be aware there is a quite a wait for spots right no
