Hi Guys, welcome back to The Bookshelf. Each week I feature an author or book blogger and talk about their bookshelf with them. It’s a light-hearted, book focused, Q&A.

This week I have a blogger who is new to me, but having spent some time browsing her blog I have to highly recommend you head over and check out alwaysreading.net and get to know Lainy.

What was the first book you remember having on your bookshelf?
IT by Stephen King.  I was really young and had no place reading such a book but it began a love of reading and much needed escapism.

What was the most recent book you added to the bookshelf?
Snape: A Definitive Reading by Lorrie Kim.  As a huge Harry Potter fan, I generally snap up anything going.  I have seen this book discussed on many of the Potter forums & with much debate about his character I had to buy it.

Which book have you most recently read from your bookshelf?
Still Me by Jojo Moyes (an ARC) out later this month.  It is book three in the life of Louisa Clark.  Absolutely brilliant book that I will be buying as soon as it comes out.

Which 5 books from last year would you not let go of from your bookshelf?

All of my Stephen King are keepers so I will count them as one.
Lord of the Rings by J R R Tolkien
Me Before You by Jojo Moyes (however I have bought this 13 times as I keep giving it out to folk who say they haven’t read it, i also gave it out for World Book Night).
A Time To Kill by John Grisham, I read this book as a pre teen and it had a huge impact on me.  So much horror done because of racism, it really opens your eyes to the evils of in the world.

Which books are you most looking forward to adding to your bookshelf?

Still Me by Jojo Moyes,
Life of Crime by Kimberley Chambers
Every Note Played by Lisa Genova

Which genre is most predominant on your bookshelf?
That is a hard one, I grew up with horror so a lot of it is that but since blogging, I am getting into so many other genres.  I would say Crime and contemporary fiction too.

Which genre do you wish you had more of on your bookshelf?
Probably more horror, that was always my fav genre growing up.  Most of the review books I get are psychological thrillers, crime or contemporary.  So horror and or apocalyptic, I enjoy zombie tales so much I gave them their own tab on my blog.

If your bookshelf could talk what would it say?
Buy another, I am collapsing under triple stacks here 😛

What colour do you see more of when you look at your bookshelf?
It is honestly so cramped full there is no one definitive colour, just a sea of mixed.

Can you share a picture of your bookshelf / favourite bookshelf?

About Lainy

I am a Scottish bookworm who loves nothing more than curling up with the kitty (Princess Trixie), a blankey, scented candles and my book.  I review on my blog for keeping track of what I have read and since then came to the notice of publishers/authors.  I review my own book buys, review copies and just about any book I get my hands on.
