The Bloggers Bookshelf – Jo from My Chestnut Reading Tree @jocatrobertson

Hi Guys, welcome back to The Bookshelf. Each week I feature an author or book blogger and talk about their bookshelf with them. It’s a light-hearted, book focused, Q&A.

This week I have one of my favourite bloggers stopping by; Jo from My Chestnut Reading Tree. Although Jo and I read quite different books, Jo is very much into her mysteries and thrillers. We do very occasionally overlap on the chick-lit front. That being said I love reading her reviews and I’ve found some gems for Hubs bookshelf in her reviews and I highly recommend her blog.

Here is her bookshelf…

What was the first book you remember having on your bookshelf?
My copy of Riders by Jilly Cooper is the longest serving book on my shelf so probably that one!

What was the most recent book you added to the bookshelf?
Snow Sisters by Carol Lovekin

Which book have you most recently read from your bookshelf?
The Summer Of Impossible Things by Rowan Coleman

Which 5 books from last year would you not let go of from your bookshelf?
The Dry by Jane Harper. Deep Down Dead by Steph Broadribb. The Roanoke Girls by Amy Engel. Maria in the Moon by Louise Beech. Valentina by S E Lynes

Which books are you most looking forward to adding to your bookshelf?
The books Samantha Hayes is going to write for Bookouture!

Which genre is most predominant on your bookshelf?
Psychological thrillers

Which genre do you wish you had more of on your bookshelf?
I am happy with what I have!

If your bookshelf could talk what would it say?
I really enjoyed the recent clearout but now I’m looking a bit bare so BUY MORE BOOKS!!!

What colour do you see more of when you look at your bookshelf?

Can you share a picture of your bookshelf / favourite bookshelf?
I’ve attached a pic of my favourite bookshelf which is my signed bookshelf and books I have been quoted in or am in the acknowledgements.

About Jo

Hi my name is Jo and I love reading which is why I set up My Chestnut Reading Tree in February 2016 so I could share my thoughts about the books I read with the world! I read mainly crime and psychological thrillers but I also love women’s fiction..basically I just love a good story and will review most books apart from sci-fi or horror. I am a working mum and nana and I spend the little free time I have curled up with copious amounts of tea, chocolate and a (hopefully!) good book. I always leave reviews on Amazon (where I am now a Top 500 reviewer) and on Goodreads. I am happy to review both ebooks and real books in my preferred genres.

I'm BrizzleLass, I have Bipolar and have been dealing with mental illness in one form or another since childhood, I was first diagnosed with depression at nine. It's not easy speaking out about my experiences, some of them are extremely painful, but if I can help even one person then I have succeeded in sharing my story. This is where I talk about my mental health among other things that interest me. I enjoy walking, PlayStation, reading, heavy metal, and spending time with my Niece.

  1. I loved Riders! Also enjoyed Rivals, but after that I thought JC’s bonkbusters got too silly. Roanoke Girls is on my TBR list, I’ve read so many good reviews of it on book blogs. Am impressed by your ‘signed or mentioned in’ shelf!!!
