A sassy new romance from a USA Today Bestselling Author…
After moving cross-country yet again, Hannah Roberts wants to put down roots in Colorado. She’s sunk her life savings into a share of Bloom Yoga Studio, but the studio is losing money, and fast. The building is undergoing a messy, noisy renovation–and the hot carpenter in charge is distracting her yoga students in more ways than one. If Hannah can’t talk the hard-bodied builder out of his power tools, she might as well kiss her dreams goodbye.
When Jake Marshall returned from Afghanistan, he brought back an injured knee and a lot of bad memories. He just wants to finish this renovation, rehab his knee, and head for Alaska to leave it all behind. A sexy yoga teacher doesn’t fit into his plans. But when Hannah offers him private sessions in exchange for quiet hours—he’s all in. He doesn’t expect that while she’s healing his knee, Hannah will poke at all his hidden wounds…and come dangerously close to breaking open his heart.
Hannah isn’t your stereotypical yoga teacher, she’s curvy, eats junk food and is generally not very zen. She’s the kind of girl who run’s from her problems and that’s exactly how she ended up in Colorado as co-owner of the Bloom Yoga Studio. It’s all or nothing for her now because if the studio fails she’ll have nothing left. So when Jake and his construction crew move in she’s not pleased at all about all the disruption they cause.
The pair come to an agreement, she will help him with a knee injury he sustained in Afghanistan, in return he will arrange some quiet time for her and her partners to run classes. Of course neither of them are prepared for the intensity of the connection they have to each other.
This is easily one of the most slow burn books I’ve ever read. I actually believed nothing would ever happen between these two, that it would be all chemistry that would just implode as they made one detrimental decision after another.
Both characters have been through the wars, one literally one metaphorically and neither want a relationship, but as we know sometimes the thing we least want is the thing we most need. They so perfectly fit into each other’s lives, complimented each other’s personalities and they struggled to see that, to see how good they were for each other. The worst thing was that Jake had his expedition to Alaska always looming, something that meant they both knew that whatever did happen between them it was never going to last.
This was a beautifully written book, although I will admit to getting lost at the yoga terms throughout. Otherwise I loved the tension, romantically and sexually. The characters were beautiful and strong and kind.
Sending huge thanks to Leigh LaValle and Xpresso Book Tours for the eARC so that I could read and honestly review this novel.
About Leigh LaValle
Leigh LaValle is a USA Today bestselling author of contemporary and historical romance. She lives in Montana with her family. When she is not chasing kids, bemoaning the laundry, or carving out time to do yoga, she is sneaking away to write. She would rather read than sleep, and cannot imagine a better job than writing romance. She is also a certified yoga teacher, but is not nearly as flexible as she once was.
