Music Monday: Tina Guo – Skyrim (Dragonborn)

This is a weekly meme I’ve picked up from Drew at The Tattooed Book Geek. It’s very simple, you pick a song on a Monday and share it! Never one to turn away from the chance to share my exquisite taste in music I’m loving taking part in this every week, so thanks Drew!

So I may have mentioned I have a weakness for the cello, it’s my favourite instrument by miles. Now while I normally defaul to Apocalyptica for all things Cello, Tina Guo is an outstanding cellist and among other things she plays gaming music and oh yeah I am a bit of a gamer! This is one of my favourites, not least because I love the game and the music on it is outstanding, Skyrim.

  1. Awesome.🤘

I’ve never played Skyrim, there was supposed to be loads of issues with the PS3 version and so I never bothered. Might have to pick up the PS4 version at some point.

Great tune, I do like game soundtracks. The Witcher 3 has an amazing soundtrack too. The fields of ard skellig is a fantastic piece of music.

      1. Lindsey is another that’s so underrated! She’s on Dancing on the Stars right now though which is completely fun to watch. Which album of hers would you say is your favorite?

      2. Oh really? She’s a trained ballet dancer isn’t she? So I bet that’s interesting! I absolutely love Shatter Me, I didn’t like her most recent album quite so much it was a little too pop for me, but she switches styles so often I imagine her next one will be awesome.

      3. I loved Shatter Me as well and self titled Lindsey Sterling. Brave Enough has a couple tracks on there I really like; The Arena and and Hold My Heart. Yes, I believe you’re right. She’s doing a good job as far as I know. I don’t keep up with the show regularly but I go back and watch some of the clips.

  2. LOVE this song, Claire. I have a weakness for the cello and it’s always captivated me. Such a powerful instrument. Great artist!

My son loves Skyrim, but I’ve never played it. I think his came as a download when he bought his Xbox. Will check it out.

    Thanks for sharing! ❤

  3. Ah, fantastic tune! I never thought I would love to listen to the cello as much as I do now… hells, some evenings I’m going through classical music on youtube and think to myself- what the what? 🙂 But it’s all just good… pure instruments and talent!

As for gaming- I’ve never ever ever in my life played a single PS game or anything like that… 😀 Never was one for computer games either… don’t know why I never got into them… 🙂

    1. Haha! Classical music is really kind of awesome! You’ll have to let me know some of what you’re finding! I went and watched the London Philharmonic do a set of space themed music last year that included the Star Wars theme… absolutely killer!

Yeah I messed around with gaming as a kid but not seriously, we didn’t have computers so it was only on friends when I visited but since meeting Hubs I’ve been pulled into his little web. But I will go six months or more without playing, it’s not a hobby i’m really into, I go in phases.

      1. Ah, was never big into Star wars but I have heard the music so I can imagine how awesome it was… classical music just has to be heard live! It’s one of those things no one can say they won’t like because it has power!
Still exploring my way around the classical but once I figure out the one that hits me the most I’ll let you know 🙂
