Music Monday: Delirium by Lacuna Coil

This is a weekly meme I’ve picked up from Drew atย The Tattooed Book Geek. It’s very simple, you pick a song on a Monday and share it! Never one to turn away from the chance to share my exquisite taste in music I’m loving taking part in this every week, so thanks Drew!

I’ve mentioned a few times my bipolar has spiralled into a depression the past few weeks. Music is always really important to me but when I’m unwell especially so. I have been a huge fan of the Italian band Lacuna Coil from day one, and I literally couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve seen them live but it’s in the double figures by now.

Last year they released Delirium, an album completely centred around mental health. It’s a solid and sensitive album but it doesn’t hide from the brutal truth’s of life with a severe mental illness either. It’s my favourite of all their albums probably because I connected with it on such a personal level.

I’ve chosen the title track from the album to share with you, but I highly recommend this album.

I hope you enjoy.

Delirium, delirium
Delirium, delirium

I can’t surrender
I cannot breath and I’m still going under
it’s hard to realise
it’s getting closer
I fear this struggle
is wasting me from inside

Delirium, delirium
Delirium, delirium

Insane obsession
is growing faster
there’s no medication
It’s hard to realise
lost in confusion
I hear the silence
is screaming aloud inside

Delirium, delirium
Delirium, delirium

Enclosed in a shrine
locked away inside my mind
I walk in the darkness and neon lights
delirium will take me away

Delirium, delirium
Delirium, delirium
Delirium, delirium
Delirium, delirium
