Music Monday: Hell and High Water by Black Stone Cherry

This is a weekly meme I’ve picked up from Drew atΒ The Tattooed Book Geek. It’s very simple, you pick a song on a Monday and share it! Never one to turn away from the chance to share my exquisite taste in music I’m loving taking part in this every week, so thanks Drew!

Black Stone Cherry have a superb back catalogue, I’ve seen them live countless times, they’re a band I will catch whenever they hit the UK shores. I’m dealing with a few crappy things at the moment on top of all my fantastic but stressful things and this particular song really resonates with me. Not just because of the lyrics but it’s actually pretty upbeat so really picks me up when everything is getting on top of me which is at least once per day!

I hope you enjoy.

I know your hiding places

and I know your every move

’cause girl, I’ve been lonely too.

And I seen a million faces

been to a million places.

But, girl, there’s no one quite like you.

And I’d walk through hell and high water.

Wash away with the tide.

I can lose a damn war all by myself,

if you were on the other side.

So, in the morning when the rooster crows,

pack your bags and get ready to go.

If you’re walkin’ through hell and high water, please don’t do it alone.

I know you feel let down

and I know, you been turned out.

I wish I’d been there for you.

So when the night time comes around.

And you feel like an only child,

just know, I’ll be there for you.

If you’re walkin’ through hell and high water, please don’t do it alone.

Oh, no…

  1. Great pick, Claire! I love their sound and hadn’t heard this one yet.

Did you happen to see my comment over at Drew’ s Music Monday? All three of us were planning the same song for today. Don’t ask me how! Out of all the songs in the world. Were mentally connected! πŸ’–πŸ–€πŸ’œπŸ€˜
