#BlogTour: The Shifter Clans Boxset by Tiffany Shand @TiffanyShand #Review

Shifter_Clans_Series_Box_Set

I am pleased to be a part of this book tour for The Shifter Clans Boxset by Tiffany Shand. This is an urban fantasy series and the second of Tiffany’s boxsets I’ve featured on the blog having been on her tour for The Amaranthine Chronicles earlier in the year. I read this boxset in one sitting (pretty unusual for me) and thoroughly enjoyed it so I hope you enjoy my review and head off to pick it up (it’s only 99p…an absolute bargain).

Description

Alpha’s Daughter

After being kidnapped as a child, Christy Daine was sent away from her shifter clan to live among humans. For over a decade she has lived in fear of the people who tried to kill her. Living with her bodyguard, Ronan, the two embark on a secret relationship that could get them both killed.

When her father, the alpha of all the clans demands she return home to marry a man he’s chosen for her, Christy will finally have to face her past and her true nature. Danger lurks around every corner and even Ronan might not be the man she thought he was.

As the alpha’s daughter, can she really choose between the man she loves and the man she is supposed to be with? And who can she really trust?

Alpha Ascending

After watching her family be slaughtered by the man chosen to be the next alpha, Christy has to turn to the only people left on the island for help. The outsiders are considered outcasts by the shifter clans and were blamed for her mother’s death years earlier.

With Ronan imprisoned, no allies and nowhere else to turn, Christy must learn to trust the people she once viewed as enemies and discover who is really friend or foe. To do that Christy must learn to accept who and what she and discover secrets long buried among the clans if she’s to save Ronan and their future.

Only she can become the true alpha and bring the clans together before it’s too late.

The Alpha’s Curse

Christy should be happy now she’s finally with the man she loves, but enemies still cover the island sanctuary that the shifter clans call home. After discovering her brother may still be alive, Christy must go back to the man responsible for killing her family and into the heart of danger.

Now the alpha, she must find a way to stop the people who seeks to destroy all shifters, bring together the clans and the outsiders and stop the centuries old Alpha’s Curse before it can destroy every shifter in existence.

Review

This is the first of Tiffany Shand’s work I have read, although I have her previous novella series The Amaranthine Chronicles in my TBR which I’m keen to read soon having now read this. This book will sit in memory for a long time, not least because I sat down to read it one night in A&E and finished it sat in the same cubicle six hours later after a few interruptions!

Written as three separate novellas this also reads perfectly as one novel with no breaks in story flow to make it feel awkward or repetitive.

Tiffany Shand has created an urban fantasy world with werewolves and witches within the UK. It is very well formed and the character this story is focused around Christy is a strong independent young woman who isn’t happy to conform to the old ways of being married off to whomever her father chooses in an arranged marriage of convenience. She wants to follow her heart and is determined she can make her pack stronger her way.

As the story slowly unfolds we discover there are plans afoot to turn the world on it’s head and Christy and the man she loves, Ronan, do everything they can to unite the wolves and change the outcome.

I found Christy a strong but flawed character, I always prefer characters to be flawed, they shouldn’t be perfect otherwise what are they going to overcome? Christy wants to be human she hates being a wolf princess with all the attention it attracts. She would like nothing more than to run off to the middle of nowhere and live out her days with Ronan. She is the epitomy of a reluctant hero.

Ronan is a wonderful sidekick, he is tortured and broken, has a moral compass that controls everything including his feelings for Christy. He has a strong sense of self but would do anything to protect Christy including putting himself in deaths way. He was a wonderful character and I wish there was more of him, more of the book centred around him.

Overall this was a wonderful paranormal romance, I can see more books coming out of this world, there were other characters I would love to know more about and I could see future stories coming out of their lives. Definitely a thoroughly enjoyable read.

Sending a huge thank you to Tiffany Shand for the review copy of this novel for my honest review.

    1. Yeah, really simple, if its a review based one, you will get the book usually a month or so before then a week or two before the tour you will be sent all the blurb and images you might need. If you are doing a content post you will be sent that with the other content. If they need anything from you they will let you know but it’s very straightforward.
