Welcome to The Bookshelf. Each week I will feature an author or a blogger and talk about their bookshelf with them. It’s a light hearted book focused Q&A. My first participant is an author I always thoroughly enjoy reading, she writes some of the best female characters I’ve read in her genre, and I always look forward to her books, without further rambling from me, I welcome the beautiful and talented, Kierney Scott.
What was the first book you remember having on your bookshelf?
I had every Beverly Clearly book. I loved her books when i was a kid. I also loved Judy Blume and The Berenstain Bears.
What was the most recent book you added to the bookshelf?
My daughter has taken over the bookshelf. She adores reading and I say yes to every book request. She just bought a series about mermaids or dolphins or some other aquatic creatures. I can’t keep up with what she is reading.
Which book have you most recently read from your bookshelf?
Biocentrism: How Life and Consciousness are the Keys to Understanding the True Nature of the Universe by Robert Lanza MD
Which 5 books from last year would you not let go of from your bookshelf?
My friend Ela Lourenco just launched a new fantasy series : Dragon Born. I have signed copies of all of them. I also love Darcie Boleyn. Her books are all keepers.
Which books are you most looking forward to adding to your bookshelf?
Anabelle Bryant just signed a deal for a new historical series. Her books are fabulous. I can’t wait to add those to my shelf.
What was the most recent addition to your writers bookshelf?
The Emotion Thesaurus : A Writer’s Guide to Character Expression. I have bought four copies of it. I keep buying it and losing it because i take it everywhere with me.
Which of your own books are you most proud of adding to the bookshelf?
I have not written it yet.
Which book on your bookshelf do you most wish you had written?
Love You Forever by Robert Munsch or One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey
Is there a WIP we can look forward to adding to our bookshelves?
I am currently writing a crime thriller. It is super dark and gritty. My BFF and fellow author Gina Calanni jokes that the tagline should be “No Trigger Left Behind” because it is bound to make everyone uncomfortable at some point.
Can you share a picture of your bookshelf / favourite bookshelf?
This is my favourite bookshelf because my husband Alistair built it for me.

About Kierney Scott
Originally from California, Kierney Scott moved to Scotland to enrol in the Ph D programme in Educational Research at the University of Edinburgh.
Four days after she arrived, she met her husband, who persuaded her it would be more fun to get married than write a thesis. After the birth of her daughter she decided it was time to go back to school, but soon discovered all she wanted to write was romance novels. She admitted her literary proclivities to her husband, who promptly bought her a laptop and told her to start writing her book.
When she is not writing, you will probably find her at a spinning class or baking (read eating) cupcakes. Her butter cream icing is legendary, if only in her mind. If you want her recipe, or just want to chat, you can contact her at KierneyScott@gmail.com or follow her on twitter @Kierney_S
So, if you would like to take part in The Bookshelf click here, and fill in the really short form, I can then send over the Q&A forma and once I have it back I can get you booked in. The feature will always run on a Saturday and as I said it is open to both authors and bloggers.
I can’t wait to hear from you!
