Stacking the Shelves

Stacking the Shelves #3 – New Books This Week

Here is this week’s Stacking the Shelves, this is a weekly meme which is organised by Tynga’s Reviews, as I put myself on a book ban during April to catch up with ARC’s this should be a blank post, but a few have slipped through the net…

This week I haven’t done much and have been reading less. My bipolar has been quite bad, I’ve been very hypomanic and have been on a lot of sedating medications and struggling to concentrate so my reading has slowed down quite significantly!

I also tried to read probably one of the worst books that’s ever crossed my path… more on that on Monday when my rather short review goes up!

Here are my new books this week!

These are books I have bought for my Kindle…

Finding Sarah - Wendy Lou Jones

Finding Sarah by Wendy Lou Jones – I read a review of this and saw it on offer so decided to pick it up and give it a go.

Books I have won…

Just The Way You Are - Lynsey James

Just The Way You Are by Lynsey James – I won a copy of this from Lynsey in Jenny in Neverland‘s blogiversary giveaway. I’ve had it on my wishlist for a while so I’m looking forward to getting my nose between the pages.

These are books I have received for blog tours…

Memories of Ash - Intisar Khanani

Memories of Ash by Intisar Khanani – I’m on the tour for this book at the end of May so have this and the first book in the series to read by then!

Thanks for joining me this week! It’s been fun, see you next week folks and let me know what’s new on your shelves!

I'm BrizzleLass, I have Bipolar and have been dealing with mental illness in one form or another since childhood, I was first diagnosed with depression at nine. It's not easy speaking out about my experiences, some of them are extremely painful, but if I can help even one person then I have succeeded in sharing my story. This is where I talk about my mental health among other things that interest me. I enjoy walking, PlayStation, reading, heavy metal, and spending time with my Niece.

  1. It’s really tough when you’re struggling to read due to medication or illness and then the book you finally do pick up is awful. It’s happened to me quite a lot recently too – I’m on pain meds that make me feel like my head is full of cotton wool so reading isn’t always easy and I need books that keep me hooked in order to be able to read. I hope the next book you pick up is a brilliant read.

    Here’s my StS post:

    1. Thank you and I agree it’s very hard when you’re on certain meds. I’m having a few days where even with a book in loving I can only manage a chapter at a time. So unlike me!

      I’m heading your way now!!

      1. I’m the same a lot of the time due to my pain meds – at the moment a good day is when I can read for about ten mins without losing track. I can normally read a reasonable length book in an afternoon so it’s tough. Hopefully we’ll both be back reading soon.
