Nobody But You - Jill Shalvis

Description:
After an overseas mission goes wrong, Army Special Forces officer Jacob Kincaid knows where he must go to make things right: back home to the tiny town of Cedar Ridge, Colorado. All he needs to scrub away his dark past is fresh mountain air, a lakeside cabin, and quiet solitude. But what he discovers is a gorgeous woman living on a boat at his dock.

Sophie Marren has nowhere else to go. She’s broke, intermittently seasick, and fighting a serious attraction to the dark, dishy, I’m-too-sexy-for-myself guy who’s now claiming her dock. Something about Jacob’s dark intensity makes her want to tease – and tempt – him beyond measure. Neither one wants to give any ground…until they realize the only true home they have is with each other.

Review:
The third installment of Jill Shalvis’ Cedar Ridge series brings us the story of the mysterious Jacob Kincaid, until now Jacob has been the missing Kincaid brother but he is now back after one of his Special Forces missions has gone wrong and one of his close friends was killed. Now that he is back he needs to face his family and find where he fits into Cedar Ridge after almost a decade away but his attention is swayed by Sophie Marren, seasick and volatile red-headed divorcee living on her ex-husband’s boat which she won in the divorce.

These are easily the most stubborn of Jill Shalvis’ characters I have come across yet. I laughed my way through this book as Jacob and Sophie tried to resist the feelings boiling between them, while jumping in and out of bed with each other like a pair of horny bunnies!

This book was certainly more sex filled than the previous ones in the series but it made a nice change, it showed that a couple can still fall in love and get to know each other while having lots of fun! And these two have lots of fun! They are also a couple who are full of fire and have lots of arguments!

This is my favourite type of couple, they aren’t full of sweet whisperings and promises, just realism and attraction. This felt like what couples are like when they meet each other all fire and attraction then bam(!) you’re in love and all your plans for yourself are up in the air and that makes you really quite angry! I liked it a lot!

A huge thanks to Jill Shalvis and Headline Eternal for the ARC via BookBridgr so that I could read and honestly review this book.

  1. I have read second chance summer after a friend bought it for me. I really enjoyed it and would like to know more about the other characters. This book sounds great.
