Blog Tour: Review: The Parent Trap by Tilly Tennant
Welcome to my stop on The Parent Trap blog tour which has been organised by Brook Cottage Books. I’m very pleased to be taking part and hope you enjoy your time here. Do also make sure you enter the giveaway at the end of the post!
A shock development turns Phoebe’s world upside-down. But it’s one that Jack has difficulty coming to terms with too, and they seem to be growing further and further apart. Archie continues to stir up trouble between them, until one night his reckless actions almost end in tragedy. And he’s not the only one causing problems in Phoebe’s life, as Midnight adds her own peculiar spanner in the works.
Phoebe buries herself in her job, and it looks as though Hendry’s might actually be on the road to financial recovery. But if she loses Jack and Midnight, what will it all be for?
The Parent Trap is the third instalment in the Mishaps in Millrise series.
We’re past the halfway point with this series now and can start to see things coming together with this book, at least we would if Tilly Tennant didn’t drop a couple of turmoil traps off in the course of this novella!
The Parent Trap see’s Phoebe hit with one thing after another, facing a few emotional upheavals as well as life changing decisions. As a character she continues to grow on me and make me feel more connected to her, although at times she is extremely frustrating!
My disconnection from Jack continues with this book. I find him emotionally disconnected, selfish, and weak. I have no idea what appeals to Phoebe about him, again I think she may be more caught up in the love of his daughter. And don’t even get me started on his Mother! How people survive with in-laws like her I don’t know, they deserve sainthood’s!
I’m looking forward to reading the final book in this series and seeing how things finally pan out. I have a feeling Jack will come through although I would quite like it if Phoebe kicked him to the curb!
Thank you to Brook Cottage Books for inviting me onto this blog tour and for the ARC for my review.

About Tilly Tennant:
Tilly Tennant was born in Dorset, the oldest of four children, but now lives in Staffordshire with a family of her own. After years of dismal and disastrous jobs, including paper plate stacking, shop girl, newspaper promotions and waitressing (she never could carry a bowl of soup without spilling a bit), she decided to indulge her passion for the written word by embarking on a degree in English and creative writing, graduating in 2009 with first class honours. She wrote her first novel in 2007 during her first summer break at university and has not stopped writing since. She also works as a freelance fiction editor, and considers herself very lucky that this enables her to read many wonderful books before the rest of the world gets them.
Hopelessly Devoted to Holden Finn was her debut novel; published in 2014 it was an Amazon bestseller in both the UK and Australia. It was followed by Mishaps and Mistletoe and The Man Who Can’t Be Moved. Find out more about Tilly and how to join her mailing list for news and exclusives at http://www.tillytennant.com
